Dr. Ghosh is a Professor of Operations Management and Director of the Center for Management of Technology in the DuPree College of Management, at Georgia Institute of Technology. His research and teaching interests are in the areas of global operations and supply chain strategy, supply chain strategies for e-business, product development and supply chain interface, enterprise integration, quality management, and manufacturing planning and control. His research has been supported by grants from organizations such as the National Science Foundation (to study the impact of knowledge management on improving business process capabilities), Dept. of Education (to study the impact of total quality management practices by global manufacturing firms for achieving sustained competitive advantage), American Society for Quality (to study the impact of Georgia's Baldrige-based quality award process on organizational performance), European Union Information Directorate and the Lorraine (France) Development Corporation (to study the operational dynamics of the globalization of U.S. firms into Europe), and from companies such as Hewlett-Packard, IBM, and SAP America. In connection with his research projects, he has made study visits to over 75 organizations in N. America and Europe.

His research has been published in several scholarly journals such as Decision Sciences, IIE Transactions, Journal of Operations Management, International Journal of Production Research, European Journal of Operational Research, Quality Management Journal, OMEGA, etc. He is a recipient (co-author) of two Best Paper awards from the Decision Sciences Institute. He has worked as a production engineer with Tata Industries, and has consulted with several manufacturing companies on productivity, quality, and supply chain improvement. He has served on the Board of Examiners of the Georgia Oglethorpe Quality Award. Dr. Ghosh is a member of the Decision Sciences Institute (former Vice President), the Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences, and the Production and Operations Management Society. He is an Associate Editor of Decision Sciences, and serves on the Editorial Review Boards of the Journal of Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, and the Quality Management Journal.

Involved with Artilligence from its pre-incorporation days, Dr. Ghosh can be counted as one of the founders and continues to support the Management in every possible manner.
